To end my Thanksgiving and birthday weekend, I finally decided to go to this DeviantMEET in Vegas. It was held at The Venetian Hotel & Casino, particularly the Sands Expo Hall in the very back of the location. It has been a long time since I last went to The Venetian, so finding a parking spot was a bit of a challenge for me. And what made the challenge a bit more complicated was the fact that there's heavy traffic everywhere. As for getting to the DeviantMEET in time, I barely made it. Seeing that I have not been to the Sands Expo Hall before, I had to ask several people that worked the place to actually get there before the event started. When I went into the room where the DeviantMEET took place, I got a bit confused as to where I'm supposed to register/log in.
After all that, I signed myself in, and began to check out other peoples' artwork. While I find all of the artwork that are posted on the walls really good, only a few of them had caught my interest. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of the names of certain art pieces. During the event, there were several tables scattered across the hall that had plenty of paper and colored pencils to draw on. As much as I wanted to draw something(I'm not lying, by the way), I was a bit more concerned of finding any of my watchers that actually came to this event. Also, I was trying to find a couple of the cosplayers I've met at the Anime Vegas conventions. I'll discuss the Anime Vegas stuff for another time. I believe the DeviantMEET also had the preview of the Cave Auto Desk Conference or something along those lines. However, I didn't have the money to go to that event. There were several computers to draw/sketch as well, but I prefer to draw the old-fashioned way. And even if I did wanted to do a quick sketch, there were too many people trying to draw something on the computers. I did meet a couple of familiar faces while I was at the event, so I wasn't lonely.
After hanging out at the DeviantMEET session for roughly 3 hours, the event was average for me. I was hoping the DeviantMEET would be a 3 day event, similar to an anime convention. The setting of this event was quite spacey compared to this year's Anime Vegas convention held at the Renaissance Hotel.
Preparations for Level Up Expo/Not a Fake
Aside from that, I am really getting ready for the Level up Expo convention this month. I have been waiting for this. :)
As for not being a fake, well, when you work at a restaurant job(that goes for any type of job; doesn't have to be a restaurant) for a long time, you don't always have the time to make the art. Life can be a struggle sometimes. And that is the truth. I speak from my heart on the topic. Also, I am against bullying 100%.
I have ideas for Perler art, but you guys already know my situation. So if you have any questions, feel free to comment or note me. I am willing to answer or reply back.
Getting Back into Perler Art and Some Bad News
Well, I haven't posted anything since May, and I am pretty sure some of the fellow Perler artists are wondering why.
As the title says above, after a long absence, I am now persuaded once again into making Perler art. After what happened at Level Up Expo 2017(), , I WAS both infuriated and upset for a time. But despite the persuasion from a fellow Perler artist, ~xfang2 (https://www.deviantart.com/xfang2), what has gotten me down in a gutter tonight is that the Nintendo Wii U and the support for the system is being shut down for good. Some of my friends want me to ditch the Nintendo system in favor for another game system. There is a problem with that. There is one game I
My Level Up Expo 2017 Experience
Alright. So I did attend the Level Up Expo just last weekend(May 12th to May 14th). While they did a huge improvement on the organization and such(compared to last year's Level Up Expo, which was a claustrophobic mess of fucked up proportions), I feel they could have done better with certain stuff. One thing that burned me the most was I didn't get either autograph from the voice actors from Dragon Ball Z. Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat were at this convention, and I did had the original intention of getting my Perler art of DBZ Goku and Vegeta signed by these legendary voice actors. But it didn't happen, considering for all of the guest
Preparations for Level Up Expo
Alright. A friend of mine is out of state, so I have taken the liberty of making the Perler art in his absence. And I haven't posted anything in the pixel art department in a long while. But I'm not going in the Level Up Expo thing alone. I will have company.
If any of you guys have any ideas for Perler art, I am more than welcome to take suggestions. However, I need to make the requested projects from my group first. I know there are people out there waiting to see what I can bring to the community in Perler art. I apologize for that. Life itself has been keeping me busy, as of late. In case, my current job. But as long as my job pays for m
